Tommy Bennett is the Director of Quality & Compliance at Alliant Health Solutions. Bennett has more than 35 years of health care experience, primarily within Medicare and Medicaid. His career includes clinical nursing, managed care marketing, delivery system development and management as well as contract administration and proposal development. Since joining Alliant (formerly Georgia Medical Care Foundation) in 1989, he has had numerous roles and currently serves as a member of the executive management team overseeing the organization’s Quality Management Program and accreditation for ISO 9001:2015 and Health Utilization Management (URAC). Bennett manages the proposal development process and contributes to policy and procedure development. He also is the staff liaison to Alliant’s Board Committee, Healthcare Research, which contributes approximately $300,000 in annual funding to nonprofit charities for educational and research-related activities.
Prior to joining Alliant, he served as Vice President, Health Services at CIGNA Health Plan of Georgia, and worked as a cardiac nurse at Emory University Hospital. Bennett is a graduate of Emory’s Nell Hodgson School of Nursing with a baccalaureate degree in Nursing. In addition, he is a Diplomate member of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Healthcare Quality (FAIHQ). Bennett has implemented Alliant’s corporate compliance program related to state and federal program regulations and requirements, including conflicts of interest evaluation/monitoring, ethics and program integrity. He interfaces with the Alliant board of directors, providing board governance education and reporting to the board’s Audit Committee. Bennett serves as Corporate Compliance Officer for Alliant and its subsidiaries. Bennett enjoys international travel as well as home gardening and landscaping projects.
